1. INTRODUCTION
1.1. These Winner’s Edge Terms and Conditions (the "Terms") govern the Winner’s Edge Program (the
“Program”).
1.2. The Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission ("AGLC") may amend or alter these Terms at any time.
Members can
access the Terms on the premises of any Casino Facility, Racing Entertainment Centre, and on the website at
WinnersEdge.ca.
1.3. AGLC is not liable for any damages that may occur from participation in the Program.
1.4. Members participate in the Program at their own risk. Any liability arising from a Member’s
participation in the Program
is not the responsibility of AGLC.
1.5. This Program is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws.
1.6. The decisions of AGLC with respect to all aspects of this Program are final and binding on all Members
without right
of appeal.
1.7. Gaming Terminal malfunctions void all pays and plays.
2. DEFINITIONS
2.1. “Benefits” means the Points, Bonus Points, food and beverage offers at Casino Facilities, Contest
entries, optional
GameSense tools, and other promotions awarded or available to Members for participating in the Program.
2.2. “Card” is the Winner’s Edge membership card (or replacement cards) that is provided to each Member upon
enrollment.
2.3. “Cash Played” means funds which are recirculated through Gaming Terminals, often referred to as cash
wagered or total
wagers.
2.4. "Casino Facility" means participating locations and/or services that operate AGLC equipment and/or AGLC
services.
2.5. “Contest” means the Program’s periodic contests where there are member prize draws.
2.6. “Food and Beverage Offer” means a discount on select menu items when a Member shows their Card at a
Casino Facility.
2.7. “Gaming Day” means the time period from when Gaming Terminals are available to play
at a Casino
Facility.The Gaming Day will run from 5:00 am to 4:59 am.
2.8. “Gaming Terminals” means the machines that are approved for use with the Program. Gaming Terminals
include slot machines,
video poker machines, and Electronic Table Games (eTables or ETGs) exclusively at Alberta Casino Facilities.
VLTs are
not eligible for the Winner’s Edge Program.
2.9. “iView” is the touch screen display which is used to access the Winner’s Edge user interface on
eligible Gaming Terminals.
2.10. “Kiosk” is the Winner’s Edge Kiosk that is available at Casino Facilities to provide Members access to
account information,
promotion details, GameSense tools, and Contest entries.
2.11. “Member” is a voluntary participant of the Program who is at least 18 years of age.
2.12. “Member Online Account” is a Member’s optional account for their personal Program information, and it
includes a
summary of their Program activity (such as, but not limited to, Points and Bonus Points). It is provided
through a secure
login access via WinnersEdge.ca.
2.13. “My Activity Statement” is a GameSense report sent directly to the Member by email that summarizes
their net loss/win
on a yearly basis.
2.14. “Password” is a Member’s confidential word or phrase used to authenticate use of their Card to access
their Member
Online Account (reference Section 10).
2.15. “Personal Identification Number” (PIN) is an identifying number chosen by the Member, used for
validating their membership
with their Program Card (or mobile phone number associated with their Member account).
2.16. “Points” means Points earned through qualified carded play by a Member as described in Section 6
below.
2.16.1. “Bonus Points” means the additional Points awarded to Members through special promotions which
may have a limited
time to earn Bonus Points and/or redeem the Bonus Points or Free Play (see section 7 for more
information on redeeming
Bonus Points).
2.17. “Program” means this Winner’s Edge Program and the benefits, rewards, privileges, and provisions
associated with
it.
2.18. “Self-Exclusion” is a program outside of Winner’s Edge that enables Members to exclude themselves from
all Alberta
casinos and Racing Entertainment Centres (RECs) and the gambling activities held therein. For more
information regarding
Self-Exclusion, please refer to the GameSense Terms and Conditions located at WinnersEdge.ca/GameSenseTerms.
2.19. “Terms” are the terms and conditions of the Winner’s Edge Program.
3. MEMBERSHIP
3.1. A Member’s participation in any aspect of the Program constitutes acceptance of the Terms currently in
effect.
3.2. Membership in the Program is free, granted, and maintained at AGLC's discretion.
3.3. In order to become a Member, an enrollee must:
3.3.1. Accept the Terms
3.3.2. Be at least 18 years of age, and
3.3.3. Present government issued photo identification in person at any Casino Facility in Alberta.
3.4. Members are not eligible for enrollment in the Program if they are enrolled in Self-Exclusion,
suspended, or banned
from a Casino Facility.
3.5. Acceptable forms of ID are as follows:
Alberta Operator's License
Out-of-province photo Operator's License
Alberta Identification card
(non-driver's photo identification available through private registry offices)
Passport
Armed Forces Identification card
Certificate of Indian Status card
Permanent Resident card
Canadian Citizenship Card issued prior to February 1, 2012

3.6. Membership in the Program is only available to ‘natural persons’. Organizations and institutions are
not eligible
for membership.
3.7. Members are entitled to one membership per person. Membership in the Program cannot be shared between
persons and
must be used exclusively by the Member.
3.8. The Program is not available to AGLC employees. Spouses and family members of AGLC employees are
permitted to participate
in the Program.
3.9. Casino Facility employees are allowed to participate in the Program, with the following restrictions:
3.9.1. Casino Facility employees are restricted from enrolling and participating in the Program at their
place of employment
and must also conform to all policies set out by their Casino Facility employer with respect to play at
Alberta casinos;
and
3.9.2. Casino Facility employees are ineligible to participate in any Program Contests.
3.10. All Benefits may be subject to availability and changed without notice.
3.11. Membership in the Program and Benefits are non-transferable.
3.11.1. At its sole discretion, AGLC may agree to transfer the outstanding Point balance of a deceased
Member to a surviving
spouse who is enrolled in the Program.
3.12. AGLC reserves the right to terminate membership without notification or compensation, solely at its
discretion. See
section 12 for details.
4. PRIVACY
4.1. AGLC collects, uses, and discloses personal information under the authority and protections of the
Freedom of Information
and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Act.
4.2. Collection Notice: The information collected by AGLC is collected under the authority of section 33(c)
of the FOIP
Act and will only be used for the following purposes:
4.2.1. To administer the Program, which includes determining eligibility and distributing critical
information about the
Program.
4.2.2. To send promotional and Program messages related to the Program which may include, but not
limited
to, the Winner’s
Edge Kiosk, Member Online Account, Member direct mail/email/text messages, and messages viewed via the
Gaming Terminal
(iView screen).
4.2.3. To administer Contests, offers, and special promotions; and
4.2.4. For research, survey and statistical purposes
4.3. AGLC will never sell Members' data.
Communications may be delivered to Members by AGLC, Casino Facilities that the Member visits, and
third-party service providers
- all under contract with AGLC and in accordance with the FOIP Act. Information shared with Casino
Facilities will be
limited only to what is necessary to complete these Program functions.
Questions about the collection of personal information may be directed to the Winner’s Edge Call Centre
at

4.4. Members can update their account preferences for Program-related promotional communications by visiting
WinnersEdge.ca,
the guest services area at a Casino Facility, or by calling the Winner’s Edge Call Centre at 1-833-WIN-EDGE
(1-833-946-3343).
4.5. Members must notify the Casino Facility, in person, of change(s) to their name and/or address and must
present government
issued photo identification to verify any such change.
4.5.1. Members can change their address, phone number and email address via their Member Online Account
at
WinnersEdge.ca,
at a Casino Facility at the guest services area, or by calling the Winner’s Edge Call
Centre at 1-833-WIN-EDGE (1-833-946-3343).
4.6. Members may not share an identical email address with any other Member.
4.7. The Member’s acceptance of the Terms confirms that they understand that they will receive
communications such as Program
services, promotions, offers, monthly newsletter, account information, Program updates, Casino Facility
updates, research
initiatives, and GameSense information directly sent to them from AGLC as outlined in section 4.3.
4.8. When a Member opts out of communications they will no longer receive promotional messages via email and
direct mail,
but they will continue to receive Program related messaging such as updates to the Terms and/or Privacy
Policy. A Member
can opt out of one or both (email and direct mail), based on their personal preferences.
4.9. There may be a 30-day delay from the time a Member opts out of communications to the time when they
cease to receive
promotional messages. Within the 30 days after opting-out, the Member may still receive Program
communications.
4.9.1. Members who enroll in Self-Exclusion will automatically be removed from all marketing
communications.
The update
can take up to 30 business days to take effect for member communications (email or
direct mail.)
5. MEMBERSHIP CARDS
5.1. All Program Cards ("Card") remain the property of AGLC.
5.2. The Card may only be used by the Member named on the Card.
5.3. A unique PIN must be created to use the Card. The PIN is set up during enrollment and can be changed
through the Kiosk,
Winner’s Edge Call Centre, or through a guest services representative at a Casino Facility.
5.3.1. A Member’s PIN will become locked after 10 inaccurate attempts.
5.3.2. To unlock a PIN, Members can visit Guest Services at a Casino Facility.
5.4. Members must immediately report lost, stolen, or malfunctioning Cards to a Casino Facility or to the
Winner’s Edge
Call Centre. Members who lose their Card will be required to reset their PIN upon receipt of the new Card.
5.5. AGLC may replace a lost, stolen, or damaged Card at its discretion upon presentation, in person, of
government issued
photo identification at a Casino Facility.
5.6. AGLC and Casino Facilities are not responsible for the loss of a Member’s Card or any loss caused by
the misuse of
their Card.
5.7. Members can input the mobile phone number associated with their account and account PIN at a Gaming
Terminal as an
alternative means to access the Program via cardless play. Only one mobile phone number can be attached to
any one account.
5.8. Members are eligible for two active sessions at any time. Breach of this may result in the Member being
removed from
the Program.
5.9. Each Member who qualifies for the Program is entitled to only one (1) unique Account number, which is
issued upon enrolment
in the Program and will be visible on the Member’s Card. AGLC may limit the number of Cards or replacement
Cards issued
to any Member. All Cards are at all times the property of AGLC.
5.10. Banned Members are not eligible to participate in the Program, including, but not limited to, earning
Points for carded
play, special promotions, Contests, or other Benefits associated with the Program.
6. EARNING POINTS
6.1. Points can be earned and redeemed at any Casino Facility in Alberta.
6.2. Members earn Points by playing eligible Gaming Terminals at a Casino Facility while their Card is
inserted properly
into the card reader and their card remains in the machine while they play. Members may also use the mobile
phone number
associated with their account and PIN as noted in 5.7.
6.2.1. For slot machines, Members earn 1 Point for every $1 wagered as regular play (not special
promotions).
6.2.2. For electronic roulette machines, Members earn 1 Point for every $2 wagered as regular play (not
special promotions).
6.2.3. For Replay and other multi-game ETGs, Members earn 1 Point for every $3 wagered as regular play
(not
special promotions).
6.2.4. For electronic baccarat and electronic blackjack machines, Members earn 1 Point for every $5
wagered
as regular
play (not special promotions).
6.3. AGLC reserves the right to add and remove eligible Gaming Terminals at its sole discretion.
6.4. Points and Bonus Points are awarded subject to system availability.
6.5. The amount of Bonus Points a Member can earn is based on the following:
6.5.1. Special promotions and offers, including Contests which may be offered to a Member from time to
time,
and may be
subject to additional conditions. This may include, but not limited to, date restrictions
referring to “Gaming Day” and/or timing restrictions.
6.5.2. Bonus Point values will vary based on the special promotion in which they are earned.
6.6. AGLC reserves the right to change or restrict Points, Bonus Points, Contest entries, or other awards on
Gaming Terminals,
Kiosks, and Member Online Accounts.
6.7. AGLC will not be liable for, and may adjust or cancel a Members’ Points and Bonus Points, where they
have accrued due
to system malfunction, Casino Facility employee error, misrepresentation, fraud, misuse, promotional error,
or any other
reason AGLC deems valid.
6.8. Points cannot be assigned, exchanged, traded, bartered, purchased, given by gift or otherwise sold. Any
Points so acquired
are void.
6.9. AGLC reserves the right to adjust Point earning structures for any Gaming Terminal at their discretion
and without
notice.
6.10. AGLC reserves the right to adjust and/or cancel special promotions, offers, and Contests at their
discretion and without
notice.
7. REDEEMING POINTS
7.1. Redemption of Points and Bonus Points is subject to system availability.
7.1.1. Points are redeemable for free play and Contest entries. They cannot be redeemed for monetary
currency.
7.2. A Member's Card and a Personal Identification Number (PIN) are required to redeem Points and Bonus
Points at a Gaming
Machine for free play. Alternatively, a Member can use the mobile phone number associated with their account
and PIN as
noted in 5.7.
7.3. Members are solely responsible for any activity on their account when the account is accessed by using
their Card and
PIN or the mobile phone number associated with their account and PIN at the Gaming Terminal, or when
accessed via their
Member Online Account. For this reason, Members must keep their PIN secure at all times and ensure that they
log out after
all play sessions.
7.4. Members must have a minimum of 1,000 Points or Bonus Points in order to redeem for free play and may
continue to redeem
in 1,000 Point increments.
7.4.1. Point and Bonus Points balances under 1,000 cannot be redeemed.
7.4.2. 1,000 Points or Bonus Points are equal to one dollar Canadian in Free Play.
7.5. Points and Bonus Points can also be redeemed for Contest entries at Kiosks and through the Member
Online Account at
WinnersEdge.ca. Redemption criteria and thresholds may vary based on the Contest specific terms and
conditions.
7.6. When removing a Card from the Gaming Terminal, any Points and/or Bonus Points a Member has yet to
redeem are automatically
returned to their Points balance.
7.7. Members should be prepared to show government issued photo identification and Card to a Casino Facility
employee to
redeem Points or Bonus Points or claim Contest prizes.
7.8. Points will expire 12 months from the date they are earned.
7.9. Bonus Points may have varying expiration periods based on each specific promotion. Expiration periods
will be defined
in each of the promotion's terms and conditions (legal print).
7.10. Only the Member named on the Card is eligible to win a promotional prize associated with a contest,
and must show
government issued identification along with the Card to claim the prize. They must also sign a waiver to
claim the prize
within the specified time period as outlined in the Contest Rules and Regulations. In addition, each Contest
will have
its own Rules and Regulations that guide the terms of the Contests.
7.11. Members who win a Contest are requested to share their first name in instances where the prize winner
is publicly
announced.
7.12. Members can download Points, up to a maximum of 100,000 Points per download, from their account to the
Gaming Terminal’s
credit meter.
7.13. Members can download no more than 1,000,000 Points in free play to Gaming Terminals per Gaming Day.
7.14. AGLC reserves the right to adjust Point redemption structures for any Gaming Terminal at their
discretion and without
notice.
8. FOOD AND BEVERAGE OFFER
8.1. Food and Beverage Offers are applied to select menu items that are $10 or more at regular price and
vary by Casino
Facilities.
8.2. Food and Beverage Offers are applied to select menu items at a 10% discount to Members.
8.3. Food and Beverage Offers cannot be applied to alcoholic beverages.
8.4. Members are required to produce their Card in order to receive the Food and Beverage Offer from food
and beverage and/or
dining staff prior to ordering.
8.5. Qualified food and beverage offers vary at each Casino Facility. Members are responsible for confirming
that a purchase
qualifies for this discount before making their purchase.
8.6. AGLC and the Casino Facility reserves the right to change the Food and Beverage Offers at any time
without notice.
9. MEMBERSHIP STATUS
9.1. If another person uses a Member's Card, such Member may have their membership terminated or suspended
at AGLC's sole
discretion. Penalties may also include, but not limited to, cancellation of all Points and/or other Benefits
on the Member’s
account.
9.2. AGLC may suspend, cancel, or terminate a Member’s Points, other Rewards, or Account if they have been
banned under
the authority of Anti Money Laundering (AML) legislation and/or breached the Terms.
9.3. AGLC will freeze a Member’s account if they have enrolled in Self-Exclusion. The account will be
automatically re-activated
after the self-exclusion period ends. The Points that were earned on the account would follow the associated
expiry dates
and may be expired when the account is re-activated.
9.4. In the event that a Member’s Card does not register a transaction within a continuous 24-month period,
AGLC may freeze
the membership and the account will become inactive
9.5. Inactive membership accounts may be renewed upon request.
10. MEMBER ONLINE ACCOUNT
10.1. A Member has the option to create a Member Online Account by linking an existing Member account to the
Program online
portal, where they can view their Point earning and redemption activities, manage their GameSense Tools and
manage their
Member information such as member preferences.
10.2. Members are responsible for creating a Password for their Member Online Account as per the Password
rules provided
during registration. Members must keep their Password confidential and secure at all times.
10.3. Members are solely responsible for any activity on their Member Online Account at WinnersEdge.ca. AGLC
does not accept
responsibility for any unauthorized activity on the Member Online Account.
10.4. Members must immediately notify the Winner’s Edge Call Centre at 1-833-WIN-EDGE (1-833-946-3343) if
there is any suspected
unauthorized use of their Member Online Account.
10.5. When a Member registers for Winner’s Edge and participates in the Program, they authorize AGLC to
communicate with
them about matters including but not limited to their account, special promotions, or to provide information
about new
or existing account services available to them via the Member Online Account.
10.6. Information about a Member’s account and transactions displayed via their Member Online Account:
10.6.1. May be dated at the time of viewing due to system data delays. Please allow 24 hours for
information
to be updated
through the system; and
10.6.2. Is based on a Gaming Day.
10.7. All Contests, special promotions, offers, prizes, giveaways, and other Member Online Account benefits
are governed
by and subject to all applicable promotional rules and regulations and game conditions, including these
Terms.
10.8. AGLC will strive to provide accuracy, quality, and reliability of the Member Online Account and its
content; however,
AGLC will not be held liable for any omissions.
10.9. Members acknowledge and agree that they will be solely responsible for any damage to their computer,
including its
software and hardware systems, and any loss of data that results from their use of the Member Online
Account.
10.10. Neither AGLC nor any of its related parties shall be liable for any damages or loss of any kind
whatsoever, without
limitation, including:
10.10.1. Use of or inability to use the Program website, Member Online Account and its services;
10.10.2. Any unauthorized access to or alteration to a Member name, Password, or any other transmissions
of
data;
10.10.3. Any statements or conduct of any individual who in any way uses or is connected to the Member
Online Account;
10.10.4. Any other matter relating to the Member Online Account and its service.
11. MY ACTIVITY STATEMENT
11.1. Members can request an Activity Statement directly to a preferred email address through their Member
Online Account
or at a Kiosk at any Alberta Casino Facility using their Card and PIN.
11.2. By entering an email address to receive an Activity Statement, the Member agrees to receive the
communication.
12. MISUSE
12.1. AGLC reserves the right to suspend, cancel, or terminate a Member’s account at any time due to abuse,
misuse, and/or
reasons deemed to be in violation of the Program’s intended purpose, or if they do not comply with these
Terms
12.2. AGLC reserves the right to cancel Points, Bonus Points, Contest entries, and other Benefits obtained
through abuse,
misuse, and/or reasons deemed to be in violation of the Card’s or promotion’s purpose as defined in its
terms.
12.3. AGLC may suspend or terminate a Member’s account if AGLC decides that their actions are bringing the
Program into
disrepute.
13. GENERAL
13.1. All decisions regarding the interpretation of these Terms lie solely with AGLC whose decisions will be
binding.
13.2. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, all other provisions shall remain in effect.
13.3. These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Alberta and the laws of Canada.
13.4. AGLC reserves the right to modify or cancel these Terms or the Program at any time and for any reason.
